Code of Conduct

Our Pledge

We pledge, as leaders, members of the Shyft DAO community, and contributors to the decentralized network, to make participation in the Shyft DAO community a fair, harassment-free, informative, and non-discriminatory experience. We pledge to respect every member of the community regardless of age, body size, visible or invisible disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, caste, color, religion, or sexual identity and orientation. The Shyft DAO community stands for freedom, liberty, and a world where decentralized ledger technologies are available to all.

Standards and Core Values

The following represent the Shyft DAO basic standards expected from all community members:


— Assume that everyone in this community comes with good intentions, and demonstrates empathy and kindness toward other people.

— Be respectful of differing opinions, viewpoints, and experiences.

— Give and accept constructive feedback.

— Proactively take responsibility.

— Embrace our Pledge and embody the values of the Shyft DAO as expressed in this Code of Conduct and the DAO Charter.


Members of the Community shall not engage in activities that:


— Violate any applicable law, including any laws regarding the export of data or software, patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, or other intellectual property, legal rights (including the rights of publicity and privacy of others) or contain any material that could give rise to any civil or criminal liability under applicable laws.

— In any manner violate any third party right or any agreement between a third party.

— Include or contain any material that is exploitive, obscene, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, hateful, defamatory, sexually explicit or pornographic, violent, inflammatory, or discriminatory based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or age or other such legally prohibited ground or be otherwise objectionable, such determination to be made in the DAO’s sole discretion.

— Involve, provide, or contribute any false, inaccurate, or misleading information.

— Impersonate or attempt to impersonate the DAO, its representatives, another user, or any other person or entity (including, without limitation, by using email addresses or screen names associated with any of the foregoing or that are someone else’s).

— Transmit, or procure the sending of any advertisements or promotions, sales, or encourage any other commercial activities, including, without limitation, any "spam", "junk mail," "chain letter," contests, sweepstakes, and other sales promotions, barter, or advertising or any other similar solicitation.

— Encourage any other conduct that restricts or inhibits anyone's use or enjoyment of the DAO or which, as determined by the DAO, may harm the DAO or users of the DAO or expose them to liability.

— Cause annoyance, inconvenience, or needless anxiety or be likely to upset, embarrass, or alarm any other person.

— Promote any illegal activity, or advocate, promote, or assist any unlawful act.

— Give the impression that they originate from or are endorsed by us or any other person or entity if this is not the case.

— Discuss asset prices or any financial advice.

— Display, publish, or threat to publish personal or private information of others without permission, including personal identifiable information, such as a physical address or email address.

— Involve selling or renting votes

— Discussing the price of a token or asset, or giving any type of financial advice.


Community members are invited to always express and communicate if the DAO community is failing to uphold the above and enforce this Code of Conduct. The Community leaders shall always maintain open communication channels for reporting violations of these Standards and Core Values and any inappropriate behavior. Community members shall have the right to privately report any such violations if they so request.

Enforcement & Moderation

The Shyft DAO Committees shall be responsible for enforcing compliance with the Code of Conduct. Any question or discrepancy regarding a potential breach of the Code of Conduct may be presented to the Governance Committee, whose determination shall be considered final. Further, Signers shall not approve Proposals that violate the Code of Conduct. The Shyft DAO Committees may appoint or delegate enforcement authority to Community Leaders, who will follow these Community Impact Guidelines in determining the consequences for any action they deem in violation of this Code of Conduct.


Correction


— Impact: Use of language or behavior that is deemed inappropriate and unprofessional as per the DAO Standards and Core Values set in this Code of Conduct.

— Consequence: A private warning to the offending member explaining how his/her/their behavior is inappropriate. The Community leader may request a public apology.


Warning


— Impact: A clear one-time or repeated violation of the Standards and Core Values set in this Code of Conduct.

— Consequence: A public written warning stating the nature of the violation and the consequences for continued behavior. The offending member will be placed on a watch list for a period of time determined by the respective Committee or Community leader. Should the offending member repeat the behavior or violate any additional rules, he/she/they may be permanently banned.


Temporary Ban


— Impact: A clear and serious one-time or repeated violation of the Standards and Core Values set in this Code of Conduct, including sustained inappropriate behavior.

— Consequence: A temporary ban from any sort of interaction or public communication with the community for a specified period of time. No public or private communication with the offending party, including unsolicited interactions with those enforcing this Code of Conduct, is allowed during this period. Should the offending member violate these terms or any additional rules, he/she/they may be permanently banned.


Permanent Ban


— Impact: A demonstrated pattern of violations of the Standards and Core Value set in this Code of Conduct, including sustained inappropriate behavior, harassment of an individual, or aggression toward, or disparagement of classes or individuals. The offending member shows no regard or intention to comply with the Standards and Core Values of the Community.

— Consequence: A permanent ban from any sort of public interaction within the community.
